COVID-19
--
controversial discussion?
Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses that are known to cause illness ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS).
The coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is a new type of infectious coronavirus that is caused by SARS-CoV-2 which is Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 discovered in 2019, in Wuhan China. COVID-19 causes mild to severe respiratory illness, persons most susceptible to the virus are those over the age of 60 and those with underlying medical conditions such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic respiratory disease, and cancer.
This virus has been around for more than a year and has affected how we live, COVID-19 has become part of the new norm, we can’t go the places we once frequented, our favourite shops are locked, we haven't seen friends and loved ones in so long, school is done online and so many persons are sick and dying. Yet talking about this new norm has somehow become a controversial topic and is riddled with conspiracies.
COVID-19 is :
- a way of government
- aliens
- the death count is fake
- COVID-19 is a hoax
For those people who don’t take public transport or did not have a need to leave your house, and has no contact with wider society, let me tell you people got weirder.
What I find fascinating with all these claims is that even though their origin and reason why the virus is here is all over the place, people recognize that people are dying yet do nothing to keep themselves from being added to the death toll.
Every day I understand why Albert Einstein said “only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I’m not sure about the former.”
Stay safe and stay healthy.
